Getting started with SoaringCast
Getting started
- Pick a map in the bottom bar (Ceiling, W★tot…).
- Pick the time with the time bar, from the recent past up to D+10.
- Click on the map: the sounding and the values at that point appear; the Dashboard tab sums up the day and the following days at that spot.
- At the top: airspace, NOTAM, airfields, satellite and the task tool.
Forecasts are computed automatically: they are estimates. They replace
neither the official sources nor the flight preparation required by the rules.
Time bar
The cursor runs along a single time scale, from recent observations up to D+10. The coloured ticks under the cursor show the source of each time step:

Not every map exists at every hour. If the selected map is missing at the time pointed to, the nearest one is shown; if the gap is too large, nothing is shown. Changing map never moves the cursor.
When a new forecast is ready, the map updates by itself, without moving the cursor.
